May the next 4 years even be better

4 years already?

To think that I only discovered it less than 3 years ago and it has improved in sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many ways in that time... If you improve it as much as in the past 3 years, it'll be what it already is... the best eComic reader ever. Period!

Time sure flies!

I don't remember where I first heard about ComicRack. Probably googled it somehow (old, forumer board). Somewhere around 0.9.50-55 was probably the first version I used. I was surprised with unique features, database, etc. Yet had some doubts about speed of the viewer, so giving up other software took some time. And human nature prefers simplicity - if getting to know the software takes more than 15 minutes, it becomes a challenge for most people. Yet, some patience sure turns out to be rewarding.

I had some ups and downs. Like the period when ComicRack kept reseting changes I made to the database was really discouraging. Well, it somehow resolved itself later. Then, quite recently I lost my 1TB HDD with most of my collection (never buy samsung usb disks, guys ). That was a lesson. Over the years I followed ComicRack as much as real live allowed. And I'm still here today. Keeping up langpack that close to no one uses and giving others some support and advices to the best of my ComicRack knowledge.

I'm thankful to cYo, as he made our comic experience on PC a pleasure. That's 1 in a 1000 match - I'm sure with someone else developing (even open source) this project would be long dead, as may others. Yet, he keeps working on it, spending his free time and money on improving, bugfixing and adding new features. The one and only person with skills, passion and undiminished determination. And we all benefit of his hobby. (We, the Leeches! )

I hope next 4 years will be even more successful. We're entering interesting times. Publishers are finally starting to notice potential in digital comics, instead of being afraid. We'll see how they gonna shape this market and how ComicRack adjusts to the changing environment.

I would not say that nobody uses it. 500 visits from Poland last month.

I've yet to get around to making a finnish language pack for ComicRack. Maybe one of these days. I just have no idea if the effort would be worth or not.

Happy birthday ComicRack! Both hard to believe it's been 4 years, and hard to imagine I haven't been using it longer than that. ComicRack has been one of the first programs to be installed on my machines for along time now.

Thanks for all the hard work cYo! And everyone else involved in this community as well, for making this software what it is today.
