Maybe you should reinstall .NET Framework.
Also check the Event Viewer.

l hadn't opened mine for a while on vista and now l can't get any response. Not even an error. So l uninstalled and tried a fresh install with .9.8 and now only get to the splash screen. l'm wondering if someone knows what could be left behind that l need to remove so it doesnt affect future installs. l've backed up and emptied the user/appdata files relating to the program. l can't remember the original comicrack version l was using.

the splash screen says its creating main window and thats it, drops. Haven't had this problem on Vista with anything else.

Unfortunately, I don't have an idea.
I haven't had that problem with ComicRack yet, but it's possible that ComicRack is running into some snag.
Was this originally a Windows XP system that you upgraded to Vista?
Also, have you tried running ComicRack as Administrator? It shouldn't (and doesn't) need Admin rights, but it's possible that something in Vista's changed security could be causing a muckup. Running with Admin rights should point you in the right direction quickly.
You can also try one or two tips from the old bag of tricks:
- Uninstall and re-install ComicRack but, under a different directory
- Uninstall, then reinstall ComicRack as a different user
- Uninstall, go to your %USERPROFILE%\AppData\cYo\ directory and wipe everything out that's in there and reinstall (but DO NOT DO THIS if you're uncomfortable with fiddling in system files - stuff may break)

Good luck!

Thankyou for your reply

l had tried everything except installing under another user. Had a go today and no success. l thought it could be the change over of security suites from kaspersky to eset, but l've tried everything l can think of apart from a complete uninstall of eset. Its a shame, comicrack was the pick of the bunch and l'd been using it for months, but if l cant find a solution with my current set up it looks like l'll just be sticking to cdisplay. l haven't had this problem with any other programs before.
