Hello. I've been using Comicrack for a while, but have acquired a problem that prevents me from reading any books. I'm not sure what I did that changed anything, but now when I open a book, instead of seeing the image, I just get a red border and 'x' on a white field. Changing comics doesn't help. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't help. I'm using version 0.9.111. I've tried installing more recent versions, but I'm getting errors there, too (Error opening file for writing with ignore, retry, abort options). I get those regardless of whether I've uninstalled the existing version or not.

I may have totally noobed things up here, but I'm at my wits' end for fixing this.

Anyone have any suggestions?

As you were earlier able to use ComicRack properly, but now even opening books is not possible, I think that there has been some changes in your system that are the culprit.

Why not do it the old -fashioned way.... backup your data and format the system.. then re-install CR and all will be well !

Maybe comics files you're trying to read are somehow corrupted? What format are they? PDF? CBR? Maybe they are stored on read-only device or on some system folder that CR has no permission to access. Are you able to read them in other readers? Were you able to read them before in ComicRack?

For example: make sure you don't have nested archives. CR won't open them. In this case you'll have to extract first.
