TOPIC: Rename files "-" instead of "_"
Rename files "-" instead of "_" 1 year, 7 months ago #8877
|
I tried searching but this is tough to find...
I use the automation to rename files a lot. However in my naming convention I prefer to use dashes "-" instead of underscores "_". This means that after I auto rename I still have to go back and manually replace the titles a lot. Here is an example: If I am renaming a comic titled, "Super Comic: The Adventures of Someguy" The auto rename changes the ":" to "_" so it would read: "Super Comic_ The Adventures of Someguy". Instead I'd like to be able to change the script maybe or a preference at the very least, so it would change it to, "Super Comic - The Adventures of Someguy" instead. Any ideas? |

1. Have every auto renamed and ready to go so you only have to do this once.
2. Select everything you want to change. 3. Right-Click to Automation->Search and Replace 4. Select "Series" for Field. 5. Put "_" in Search. 6. Put "-" in Replace. 7. Click OK. |

Thanks for the response. Yea, funny enough I figured this out after I posted. But if anyone has any suggestions for actually changing the script to do this automatically, that'd be awesome too.

You could try the Guided rename script.
